Lifelong learning is central to everything SDPB does. For decades, SDPB has prepared children for kindergarten and empowered educators with free educational resources. And in a state where 75% of children under the age of six have all adults in the home working – and no formal early learning system – these resources can have a generational impact.
SDPB’s education team carefully curates national PBS programming while also creating local educational resources that spark curiosity and deepen learning, free for everyone. The team also travels across the state – all 77,000+ square miles – to bring educational programs, interactive activities, and professional development opportunities to children, families, and educators to all South Dakotans, regardless of their location or circumstances.
